Cherokee/Saturday: 12pm Young Beginner Group Piano (age 5-6)

Ages: 5 - 6

*There is a $5.00 registration fee to hold a spot in this class.*

This class is an introduction to the piano for young beginners focusing on the basics (e.g., rhythm, note values, sound, pitch, direction, finger awareness, and body movement & coordination all cenered around the piano) in a fun and engaging setting.

*Student must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and they are expected to participate in the class with their child.

1.)  Enrollment is contingent upon the parent or caregiver submitting proof of income and attending the online piano school orientation. Both of these steps must be completed in order to finalize enrollment.

2.)  The online orientation link will be emailed/texed to you on January 6th.

Ferguson/Tuesday: 5pm Beginner Group Piano (age 7-9)

The beginner group classes are an introduction to the fundamentals of piano playing (posture, fingering, piano geography) and basic music theory (rhythm, landmark notes, treble & bass clef staffs, dynamics etc.). Students also learn about various composers and music genres in a fun and engaging setting. 

1.)  Enrollment is contingent upon the parent or caregiver submitting proof of income and attending the online piano school orientation. Both of these steps must be completed in order to finalize enrollment.

2.)  The online orientation link will be emailed/texed to you on January 6th.

Ages: 8 - 10

Music Therapy Group Description: 6-week session of weekly 45-50 minute groups for children & youth, with up to 6 participants per group.  Group will focus on emotional awareness & expression, improving emotional regulation and positivecoping skills, as well as developing social and communication skills with peers.

Examples of musictherapy group activities include: rhythm instrument playing/drumming, movement, song writing, songdiscussion, and music assisted relaxation.

*Students may sign up for one music therapy class per year so that everyone gets and opportunity to participate.  If you desire further services you are welcome to follow up with the music therapy facilitaor for more information on how to continue music therapy for your child.  Pianos for People will not be involved in any form of compensation.
